. visibilities a little bit of an issue. we have fog reported in frederick a half mile. down in warrenton at a mile. leonardtown and tappahannock, visibilities quite low. that's zero visibility from leonardtown. here comes monika with a traffic update. >>> good morning. it's still looking great out there. the good news is that all of your construction from overnight is gone and all the lanes are open on all of your major thoroughfares. so far i'm going to keep my fingers crossed that your friday morning stays that way. route 32 out of columbia, 95 coming in down toward laurel, the bw parkway, no issues to report into greenbelt. all that construction in the greenbelt area on the beltway is cleared up. let's take a live look outside. if you're planning to head here on 95 at route 198, as i said, coming in from laurel and even baltimore, everything is looking good. back over to our maps. this time we'll head over to the inside of the beltway. 395 across the 14th street bridge, 295 at the 11th street bridge and even 66 toward the roosevelt bridge, all lanes are open to the river. we'll take a live

, coming into areas along warrenton and along i-66. and in about 30 minutes to about an hour, generally it's showers, though, for fredericks and leesburg and warrenton that will be making their way towards gaithersburg in fairfax and areas north of quantico. we're in the upper 60s to mid-70s, andrews air force base at 74, arlington 73. cool spot is mt. airy at 69, north of us, and to the west it's 71. today's high 92 degrees but feeling more like 95, 96 with high humidity. so, for today, some early-morning showers. we're kind of dry here for the midpart of the day, and then we could see an isolated shower or storm just really south of d.c. along that front today. as you can see, saturday, sunday, we'll see temperatures really step down into the upper 70s by sunday. by the time i come out here next week, it will feel like fall! back to you guys inside. >> thanks, veronica. >>> right now checking out the "first 4 traffic" report. still seeing that incident, disabled tractor-trailer as you make your way on the inner loop at georgetown pike. the tractor-trailer is blocking your right lane a

:00 yesterday. for manassas, for culpeper, areas around warrenton, virginia. between one and two inches of rain because these storms were moving so slow. what's left is was on radar right now. you can see around gaithersburg, fairfax, d.c., all of this moving toward the east. that will be moving into areas like bowie and waldorf. right now this is our strongest cell. that will be staying towards calvert beach area. showers around this morning to go with the temperatures in the 60s, mid to upper 60s currently for your morning commute. patchy fog. 62 to 69 degrees. by lunchtime today, mixture of clouds and sun. getting up to 66 degrees. yes, there is a chance for today of rain after 3:00, 4:00, as we head up to 81 degrees. >>> if you're headed out of the house, give yourself extra time. still seeing wet pavement and making the roads slick. inner loop at 355, crash here at one point was blocking the left lane. very light volume, and it looks like possibly that accident may be on the shoulder now. let's head over to i-95 southbound at 17. earlier crash had been moved to the shoulder

early, so the rain setup yesterday was just south. we had some spots south of warrenton that got two inches of rain and in prince george's county, a half inch of rain, but really, we didn't get the big, areawide rains we were planning on. as far as radar now, storm4 radar, we've gothowers around leesburg and frederick, maryland, pushing up to the north and east. notice, too, just north of washington right now, around the northern side of the beltway, some more showers, and those are moving to the north and east. so, for the early-morning hours around 7:00 a.m., 8:00 a.m., there will be some scattered showers, light showers around. we're at 79 degrees. agai it is humid out there right now. temperatures throughout, 72, 79 d.c., 79 around fredericksburg and stafford. high temperature for today going up, again, to 92 degrees with a heat index about 95. a hot one with just a slight chance of a shower. most neighborhoods dry. danella? >>> right now in your "first 4 traffic" report, you're still dealing with some overnight work zones, some in the process of clearing right now. that's good n

toward culpeper and warrenton, there's even a touch of fog in the air. visibilities a mile or less in a few spots. we will see a mix of sun and clouds today. that will help boost temperatures to near 80 by noon. winds sort of variable at 5 miles an hour. by this evening, though, clouds will increase and another piece of energy means more showers and storms will be possible late this afternoon into the evening hours. maybe the first part of the night. so if you've got plans during the day they should be okay. but the ravens are home tonight. that may get impacted. this morning the showers and storms up to our north, you see this cluster of lightning and thunder which is passing and has passed our northern counties in frederick and carol and now passing baltimore county. but we've got more showers which are coming out of hancock along 70 headed toward hagerstown and green castle. so those areas we'll have to watch. we may see it slip toward the martinsburg area in a chill. temps running in the 60s. manassas has fallen to 59. it's 67 at andrews. 64 in crofton and rockville. 66 for leesburg

winds and rain from last night, zero fog in warrenton. quarter mile visibility out to the shenandoah valley. go have a dense fog advisory till 10:00 a.m. fauquier county west to the shenandoah valley and orange and culpeper as well. the rain is pulling away in toward annapolis now crossing the bay bridge. temps in the 60s. let's go to beverly farmer with timesaver traffic. >>> we've got a couple of new issues out there. if you travel on the outer loop of the beltway west of silver spring, into bethesda, the crash on the outer loop between georgia and connecticut turns out to be relatively minor. two vehicles have moved on to the left shoulder. here at university boulevard the pace is not too bad on the outer boulevard. -- outer loop. there is a crash reported on the eastbound lanes of route 50 near route 197 in bowie and one on southbound 301 coming south of central avenue near trade zone avenue. police were responding for that accident. the wet pavement slows everybody down this morning. keep that in mind. we have signal lights on flash downto 16th at harvard street and a crash repo

down to the south, warrenton really been hit hard with very heavy rain during the day today and right down toward culpeper where we're seeing the lightning. i want to show you how much rain we've seen, most of it has been in through northern virginia but a pocket of about an inch in towards portions of montgomery county, the district only about a quarter of inch. but 2.1 inches in leesburg, 3.7 in northern falkeer county. the flash flood warning, over 5 ifrmzs of rain doppler indicated. so heavy rainfall to the south and west and we're not quite done. we have this line still coming through over the next couple of hours. it will take its time doing this, all because of a stronger storm in towards portion of pennsylvania. so we're not done with the rain just yet. by the time you wake up tomorrow morning, we could still be dealing with showers out there and we will all be dealing with very wet roadways. once again, give yourself some extra time. high temperature today, 85 degrees after a low of 67. temperatures 10 degrees above average. that helped to provide the instability for these st
